RUC’s Institute for the Promotion of Chinese Language and Culture is one of the earliest research centers set up by Hanban/Confucius Institute Headquarters. It conducts a wide range of research projects on Chinese contemporary and traditional culture. As of 2007, RUC and Hanban have regularly co-hosted the World Conference on Sinology.
Confucius Institute is a joint non-profit educational agency between China and countries around the world,which is dedicated to meeting the increasing demand for Chinese language study evident around the world today. It aims at advancing educational and cultural exchanges between China and other countries, strengthening friendship with other countries and promoting the development of diverse cultures across the world. RUC has co-established twelve Confucius Institutes with our overseas partner universities.
